Over 675 cancer researchers, clinicians and thought leaders of the field will gather at the annual Immuno-Oncology Summit in Boston. In honor of Mesothelioma Awareness Day, the annual Kayaking 4 Meso even will be held in the town of Halfmoon. Attendees will help raise awareness and donations for mesothelioma in support of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation. The goal of the event is to promote research for the rare cancer in the hopes of finding a cure. The event takes place across 7.5 miles of the Hudson River.

The 2019 ICEC is co-organized by the American Association for Cancer Education (AACE), the Cancer Patient Education Network (CPEN) and the European Association for Cancer Education (EACE). Attendees have the opportunity to earn hands-on experience for improving cancer education and cancer care through various panels and discussions.

The 11th Annual Miles for Meso race celebrating Mesothelioma Awareness Day will take place on September 28th. Racers can participate in a 5k race or 3k fun run, as well as virtually participate from anywhere in the world. The event is focused on raising awareness for the rare disease, the dangers of asbestos and promoting the need for more funds for mesothelioma research.

The 2019 North American Conference on Lung Cancer hosted by the IASLC will offer more than 700 attendants lectures, poster presentations and abstracts filled with the latest findings in lung cancer and thoracic conditions like mesothelioma. Some of the highlighted presentations include diagnostic techniques, advancements in pathology advanced radiation therapies and immunotherapy.
